So, here's the deal. There's this site called Pajiba. The people over at Pajiba are doing this thing called Canonball read. The goal is to read 52 books and write a review for each. Ideally that means a book a week. I usually lurk around the site. I don't usually comment because I don't feel I can match the witty repartee of the regulars. Really I'm doing this to drag myself out of the reading rut I've been in since graduation in May. Being an english major killed reading for me. I haven't finished a book since. I've gotten to various parts of various books but can't finish one. The only things I've read cover to cover lately are a couple of graphic novels that I've pilfered from my boyfriend's bookshelf (Watchmen and the first volume of Sandman-I plan on swiping the second volume tomorrow). I have a pile of unread books on my bookshelf. I have a newly built library in town. I work 10 minutes from both a Borders and Barnes and Noble. I have easy access to a large amount of reading material. I don't see myself finishing a book a week. I really don't care if I can't get through 52 books by the end of this. I just want to actually read something and goddammit I want to finish something!
